Famous ruler: Cyrus the Great (Isaiah 44:24, 28; 45:1-4)
God sited fulfilled prophecy as one of the distinguishing features between false gods and the One True God.
The two arms are the joining together of two nations – Persia and Media – coming together and uniting against the Babylonians.
CYRUS, THE GREAT
“Who summons you by name.”
Isaiah’s prophecy was written 150 years in advance before Cyrus was born.
When Cyrus freed the Jews, a number of them would not go home, because they were drawn into the friendly captivity, and absorbed into the culture of Babylon.
