DANIEL 1:4-5
We are surrounded by a Babylon of our own.
We are surrounded by a Babylonian culture. Babylon is a representation of something much bigger than a particular land. Babylon is a philosophy; it’s a way of thinking. It is an attitude; a cultural moray, and we are surrounded by it. Day in, and day out, we are being brainwashed by it. This world culture is continually indoctrinating us.
ISAIAH 47 addresses Babylon.
“I Am and there is none besides me” (Isaiah 47:8, 10).
Babylon came to defy the One who said “I AM the I AM, and there is no other.”
We are crucified to ourselves so that we can be filled with the very life of Christ; so, that we can live unto God, and live to the benefit of mankind.
The Babylon mentality of self-absorption, and to every degree we encounter that; and we are miserable with it.
We need to become people God can use to the glory of His Name, and for His own sake.
DANIEL 1:4
Babylon symbolizes self-will.
DANIEL 1:5
Babylon characterizes complete over indulgence.
