THROUGH THE FLOOD AND THROUGH THE FIRE (Conclusion)

THROUGH THE FLOOD AND THROUGH THE FIRE (Conclusion)

2) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18).
Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon set up a golden image on the plain of Dura being 90 feet in height and 9 feet in breadth. Accordingly, Nebuchadnezzar arranged an inauguration ceremony where all the people upon hearing all of the instruments played were to fall down and worship this idol image. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to worship anyone but the true God. Upon hearing this, the king was infuriated and had the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual where he had the three Hebrews thrown into the blazing fire. Then something extraordinary began to happen--the flames were not consuming them. Nebuchadnezzar was astonished as he looked in and saw the three Hebrews walking around freely in the fire. There was also a fourth man in there who "resembled a son of the gods" which was a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus Christ (Daniel 3:25-28). Upon taking them out of the fiery furnace, it was as if they had never even entered in there. Not a hair of their heads had been singed and no smell of fire was upon them. Upon seeing this great miracle, Nebuchadnezzar was forced to acknowledge that no other god can deliver like the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
Hebrews 11:34 states that some of these men of faith even:
“quenched the violence of fire."

No matter what circumstance or trial you may be going through or whatever problems you may be facing, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are always there to comfort and sustain you through these hard and difficult times. In Genesis 18:14 the LORD asked Abraham:
Is anything too hard for the LORD?” Nothing is impossible with God.

In closing we have this wonderful promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13:
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
The LORD preserved Noah through the flood and He preserved the three Hebrews in the fiery furnace and He will do the same for you and me.
