THROUGH THE FLOOD AND THROUGH THE FIRE (Part 1)

THROUGH THE FLOOD AND THROUGH THE FIRE (Part 1)

Kenute P. Curry

Consider the phrase "Through the Flood and Through the Fire" and, a few scriptures given to us by our LORD Himself.

1) This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9).

The scripture states that Noah was a righteous man proving himself faultless and walking with the true God. So great was the relationship they had, that God told Noah His plans were to wipe out mankind; because the inclination of the thoughts of man's heart was bad all the time and wickedness was running rampant. In doing so, God related to Noah that He was going to bring a deluge of waters upon the earth, but that Noah and his family would be saved. God commissioned Noah to build an ark from cypress wood (gopher wood) and Noah obeyed. Can you imagine the ridicule and scoffing Noah encountered from the inhabitants of the land while the ark was being constructed? It had never rained upon the earth as yet, so I am sure the inhabitants must have thought that he was crazy. In 2 Peter 2:5, Noah is described as a"preacher of righteousness" warning the people to repent because of the impending judgment that was coming upon them, but the people would not listen. In Genesis 7:16, we are told that the LORD shut the door of the ark Himself after Noah and his family had entered inside. Thus, God preserved Noah and his family through the flood and brought them to safety.
Hebrews 11:7 states:
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
