XVIII. Rev. 18:4. “Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins”

XVIII. Rev. 18:4. “Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins”

1. JESUS calls us to be not of the world, although in it.
We must not love the world nor the things of the world.
We must come out—
      By flight from temptation;
      By guard over the senses;
      By prayer and faith.

2. The world and those who are of the world are reserved for destruction.
But, when we see the signs of the end approaching, we are to lift up our heads, for our redemption draweth near.
So the same event will bring destruction and salvation.

3. JESUS alone is the Rock of our salvation.
To Him we may flee and be safe for time and for eternity.
He is to be found in the Blessed Sacrament of His Body and Blood.

Resolutions.—To be not too much occupied with the things of this world.
Always to look to JESUS for help.

Text.—“Looking unto JESUS, the Author and Finisher of our faith.”
