JOHN 6:41-42 NKJV

The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
JOHN 6:41-42 NKJV

John 6:41 The Jews referred to representatives of the council. They complained that Jesus said He was the bread which came down from heaven. Although this exact phrase is not found in Jesus’ statements, it is a fair summary of what He said (vv. 33, 35, 38). Jesus did claim that He was from heaven.
John 6:42 the son of Joseph: The religious leaders’ proof that Jesus was not from heaven was that they knew His parents. To them, there was nothing supernatural about Jesus’ origin.
