ELABORATE IVORY CARVING (Amos 3:15)

This elaborate ivory carving discovered at Samaria recalls the words of the prophet Amos that Samaria’s “houses of ivory” would be destroyed by God’s judgment (Amos 3:15).

    I will destroy the winter house along with the summer house;

    The houses of ivory shall perish,

    And the great houses shall have an end,”

    Says the LORD.
