BROKEN AND SHATTERED
Kenute P. Curry
Christ had been betrayed for thirty pieces of silver, and then crucified. All of the disciples had deserted Him and fled. Even Peter denied knowing his Lord and Savior. They lay broken and shattered at the gate of Gethsemane’s garden. They were frightened men locked in a dismal and dark room.
John 20:19

5. THE ASSURANCE THAT WE CAN RECEIVE FROM CHRIST IS THAT HE HAS CONQUERED THE WORLD (John 16:33).

6. JESUS LEAVES HIS PEACE TO US (John 14:27).
When the disciples fled the garden, they took the memory of Jesus with them. No, they could not forget Him; and as a result, they came back. “Peace be with you.” The door was still locked. The walls of the room were not enough to keep Him out. Jesus gave them the one thing that they did not have – peace. He calmed all of their fears and laid to rest every question and doubt that they had. It’s the Savior! He is here! He’s alive! A great quantity of love must have cascaded in the room that day as the disciples crowded around Jesus and hugged Him. Yes, tears were flowing; but, they were tears of joy. He is back and we feel His deep love for us.
