As it was in the Days of Lot……….

PROLOUGE
“Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot:
They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it
rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of
Man is revealed.” (Luke 17:28-30).
As one who has been instantaneously delivered
from the sin of homosexuality, I can say with assurance there are many signs
that we can see as we look around at the world we are living in that prove
Jesus’ words to be true. The world
will display dramatic increases in depravity that will characterize the
hastening conclusion of this age.
LOT
SEPARATES
Our narrative of Sodom begins in Genesis
13:12-13:
“Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and
Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as
Sodom. But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against
the Lord.”
Sodom was a city at the southern end of the
Dead Sea. Together with her sister cities, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim, and Zoar,
Sodom formed the famous pentapolis of the plain or circle of the Jordan in the
valley that surrounded the Dead Sea (Genesis 10:19; 13:10; 14:2). Lot made an
excellent yet selfish choice, from a worldly point of view. It was spiritually
disastrous, because it drew Lot into the notorious wickedness and perversion of
the city of Sodom.
