CHRIST’S PREDICTION
Jesus made two radical predictions. One spoke to His future, one speaks to ours. In Luke 9:22 Jesus clearly predicted His suffering and death. He followed those words with the eternal declaration, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” In God’s plan not only was Christ to suffer the cross, but we too must die daily. Does a fresh look at these verses astonish you as much as it does me? Christ didn’t talk in parables here! No veiled truths. No innuendoes. Not a single mixed message. I am awed again by Christ’s awareness of every detail of what He would face. “The Son of Man must suffer many things . . . and he must be killed.”
