THE EXTENSION OF POWER AND AUTHORITY
Christ had a very good reason for giving His disciples such power and authority. The time would come when Christ would depart from them and work through them rather than beside them. He wisely gave the disciples power and authority while He was still tutoring and policing them personally and visibly. They would be “in charge” of the kingdom message from an earthly standpoint long before they wanted to be.
