4. Daniel 3:19-27.

4. Daniel 3:19-27.

The original language translated “son of the gods” (NIV) means “son of deity.” The definition of theophany: a visible manifestation of God. When the appearance is anthropomorphic, it may very likely be a preincarnate appearance of Christ (John 6:46).

Daniel 3:19-21 – History records that this was not an unusual thing for the kings of ancient history to do. The fiery furnace was a milk-bottle type shape of furnace, where people were dropped in through an opening in the top; and most likely onlookers could see from the sides.

Daniel 3:21-23 - When God works a big miracle for us, you will see little mini-miracles all around it.

Daniel 3:24-25 - Isaiah 43:1-3 – He Himself is with us; God Himself was the fourth man in the fire. It was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ (man-like form). John 6:46 – Every time we go through a fiery trial there are 4 in the fire: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and us; and we are the fourth one.

DANIEL 1:6
God summons, Hananiah (The LORD is gracious), Mishael (Who is like God?), and Azariah (The LORD is my help) by their God-given names.

DANIEL 3:25
An additional dividend of deliverance in the fire: Their ropes alone were flammable.

1 Peter 4:1 – When we go through a terrible trial, God might be freeing us from a long-staining bondage. Through the fiery trial, God is trying to free you up
