ANTICHRIST

Antichrist (ἀντίχριστος antíchristos, Gk.) is “literally an opposer of Christ or one who usurps the place of Christ, found only in John’s epistles and collectively meaning all who deny that Jesus is the Messiah and that the Messiah is come in the flesh (1 John 2:18, 22; 4:3; 2 John 1:7).”

Antí means “instead of or against,” and Christós means “Christ, anointed.”
