XIV. Rev. 14:1. “Lo, a Lamb stood on the Mount Sion”

XIV. Rev. 14:1. “Lo, a Lamb stood on the Mount Sion”

1. He Who was raised up on Mount Calvary now stands on Mount Sion.
With Him are the hundred and forty-four thousand innocent ones.
They follow Him whithersoever He goeth.

2. Our LORD is shown as a Lamb to represent the Victim.
He is shown standing as the Priest.
He is on the holy mountain of sacrifice.

3. To us, measuring by time, His sacrifice appears past.
But to S. John, gazing into eternity, He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
And he was also, as the Lamb, the centre of heavenly worship in what appears the far future.

Resolutions.—To think often of our LORD as the Lamb of GOD slain for me.
To offer Him to the Father.

Text.—“Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.”
