JOHN 5:31-32 NKJV

“If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.

John 5:31–47 The term witness (testimony, v. 34) is a prominent concept in John. Though Jesus’ testimony about Himself was true, under Jewish law one’s self-testimony was not admissible in legal proceedings. another (v. 32): The Father Himself is Jesus’ primary and ultimate witness (v. 37). Jesus also points His hearers to three other witnesses: John the Baptist (vv. 33–35), Jesus’ own works (v. 36), and the Scriptures (v. 39), especially the writings of Moses (vv. 45–47).
