THE TOWER OF BABEL AND THE RELIGION OF NIMROD (Conclusion)
Kenute P. Curry
As a result of their language being confused, most of the people moved away in groups according to their new language and carried their evil Sun-God based religion with them and continued to build pyramids reminiscent of the Tower of Babel.
Babel was the origin of an abominable and detestable idolatrous system that swept the world. Jeremiah 51:7 states that the nations have drank the wine of Babylon and therefore the nations keep acting crazy. The ancient Greek historian Herodotus witnessed the mystery religion and its rites in numerous countries and mentions how Babylon was the source from which all systems of idolatry flowed. Sir Austen Henry Layard, best known as the excavator of Nineveh said “We have the united testimony of sacred and profane history that idolatry originated in the area of Babylonia”. Almost every vile, profane and idolatrous practice originated at Babel with Nimrod and Queen Semiramis, the Mother Goddess. As the people scattered from Babel with their different languages, they used different names for Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz. Some called the Mother Goddess, Ishtar (originally pronounced “Easter”). In other countries she is called Eostre, Astarte, Ostera, Eastre, Ashtoreth (1 Kings 11:5, 11:33, 2 Kings 23:13), the Queen of Heaven (Jeremiah 7:18, 44:17) and Artemis (Acts 19:24, 27-28). In Egypt Semiramis took the name of Isis and her son Tammuz became Horus. The Mother Goddess was frequently worshipped as the goddess of fertility, which involved sexual orgies and temple prostitutes in an attempt to gain her favor. She was also worshipped as a mediator between god and man.
The Babylonian mystery religion is clearly an enemy of the LORD God and Christianity. Semiramis was a woman who mightily deceived the world and caused untold misery and suffering, along with her son Tammuz, who was an antichrist, a false messiah that ultimately deceived millions of people. The seductive symbols of ancient ungodly religions inspired by Satan have been incorporated into people’s everyday lives, even to this day; continuing to obscure the truth of God.
Jehovah states in Exodus 20:3-6:
“You shall have no other gods before Me.
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
He reiterates it in Leviticus 26:1:
‘You shall not make idols for yourselves;
neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves;
nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it;
for I am the LORD your God.
neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves;
nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it;
for I am the LORD your God.
He declares in Isaiah 43:10-11:
“ You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.
I, even I, am the LORD,
And besides Me there is no savior.
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.
I, even I, am the LORD,
And besides Me there is no savior.
There is only one true God and his name is Yahweh (YHWH), the Self Existent and Eternal One.
