The Church in Thyatira

The Church in Thyatira

The Bible does not record the founding of Thyatira. It is possible that Lydia and her household participated in starting the church at Thyatira (Acts 16:14).

Most likely, the church there was founded as an outreach of Paul’s ministry at Ephesus (Acts 19:10)

Acts 16:14 - Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.

Acts 19:10 -   And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
