Each of us who has been victimized in childhood can testify that the tendencies toward certain sins dramatically increase as a result. As part of my healing, I was forced to take responsibility for my own sins, whether or not another person's actions escorted me toward them. Perhaps you're like I was at one time. You don't want to take responsibility for your sins because you don't think they're your fault. You may wonder, “How else would I have responded after my reference point was so distorted?” But you see, I don't think confessing sin is primarily about fault. It's about freedom!
