WORRIED SERVICE
Kenute P. Curry
Worried service brings on worried anxiety. When this happens our lives roll in turmoil, with our emotions fragmented all over the place.
Luke 10:41-42
1 Samuel 16:7; 2 Chronicles 6:30; Psalm 44:21; 139:2; Proverbs 21:2; 24:12; Jeremiah 12:3; 17:10; 20:12
1. A HEART THAT WORRIES ONLY BRINGS HARM. WORRY CAUSES US TO BECOME AGITATED AND BRINGS ON ANXIETY (Psalm 37:8).
Matthew 20:28; Revelation 2:19; 3:15-16; Psalm 100:2; Galatians 5:13-14; Matthew 6:24; Ephesians 6:5-7
2. GOD WANTS TO FIND A HEART THAT IS WILLING TO PLEASE HIM (1 Chronicles 29:17).
3. WE ARE TO STAND FIRM IN ONE SPIRIT, WITH ONE MIND, WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE FAITH OF THE GOSPEL (Philippians 1:27).
4. A BROKEN SPIRIT AND A HUMBLE HEART PLEASES GOD (Psalm 51:17).
Proverbs 29:11; Psalm 51:17
Consider the situation of Martha and Mary. Martha worried so much that she started telling Christ what to do. Mary had chosen to sit at the feet of Christ. Martha’s work became more important than her LORD. How easily that can happen to us today. We can get so caught up in the worries and cares of this life, becoming so easily distracted that we forget Jesus. Beloved, sit at His feet every day, and trust Him to guide and direct your life through His Word. His assurance is calming.
