 There is a generation that curses its father and does not bless its mother. Proverbs 30:11

 As we consider any sins of our parents that we don't want to imitate or pass down, we should be careful not to curse them by demeaning and belittling them. A mere seven verses after God described generational sin to Israel in Exodus 20:5, He told them to honor their parents. You can ask God to help you view any sins of your parents for the opportunity to avoid repeating them in your life or your children's. You can take a deeper inspection than ever before to learn and gain understanding. But you can be honest and still avoid belittling them as people. Such behavior is no option for believers.
