 It does not depend on human will and effort, but on God who shows mercy. Romans 9:16

 Have you had a time when you were surrendered to Christ in the midst of real difficulty and you found His peace beyond understanding? Can you also say, as I can, that you have had an absence of peace in much less trying circumstances? Have you ever wondered what the difference was? When we are in crisis and finally give up trying to discover all the answers to the whys in our lives, His unexpected peace washes over us like a summer rain. But in far less strenuous circumstances, we may not be as desperate or as likely to turn them over to God. Peace comes only in situations that are completely surrendered to the sovereign authority of Christ.
