LIVING WATER - Kenute P. Curry

LIVING WATER
Kenute P. Curry

The LORD promises to give “Living Water,” and the one who comes to Him, he will not turn away. “Come,” He says, “to the fountain of true life.
John 4:25-26
1. BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS. IT MEAN’S TO SEEK GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, INSTEAD OF ESTABLISHING A RIGHTEOUSNESS OF YOUR OWN. THEN YOU WILL BE FILLED, AND YOUR HUNGER WILL BE SATISFIED (Matthew 5:6).
2. OUR LONGING FOR GOD IS COMPARED TO A DEER LONGING FOR STREAMS OF WATER (Psalm 42:1-2), TO A LAND THAT IS DRY, DESOLATE, AND WITHOUT WATER (Psalm 63:1), TO HUNGER AND THIRST (Psalm 107:9), AND TO A DRY AND THIRSTY LAND (Psalm 143:6).
3. GOD WILL POUR HIS SPIRIT ON OUR DESCENDANTS AND HIS BLESSING ON OUR OFFSPRING (Isaiah 44:3).
4. JESUS SAID “HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER THIRST” (John 6:35). JESUS INVITATION WAS “IF ANYONE THIRTS, LET HIM COME TO ME AND DRINK” (John 7:37). THE LORD PROMISES TO FREELY GIVE WATER TO THE THIRSTY FROM THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE (Revelation 21:6).
Revelation 22:17
5. IF WE CONFESS OUR TRANSGRESSIONS, JESUS WILL TAKE AWAY THE GUILT OF SIN (Psalm 32:5).
6. GOD KNOWS THE SECRETS OF THE HEART (Psalm 44:21).
7. THE PSALMIST INVITES GOD TO SEARCH OUR HEARTS, TO TEST US, AND KNOW OUR CONCERNS (Psalm 139:23).
Picture Jesus sitting at the well with the woman of Samaria. They are having a conversation, and then He suddenly looks straight into her eyes, and says “I AM THE MESSIAH!”
