COURAGE - Kenute P. Curry

COURAGE
Kenute P. Curry

In the midst of the storm, take courage. When blackened waves seem to pull you under, take courage. There is the Light! Do not be afraid….
Matthew 14:27
1. WE CAN HAVE COURAGE, BECAUSE THE LORD, OUR GOD, GOES WITH US. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US (Deuteronomy 31:6). BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, BECAUSE THE LORD, OUR GOD, IS WITH US, WHEREVER WE GO (Joshua 1:9). IF WE WAIT ON THE LORD AND BE OF GOOD COURAGE, HE WILL STRENGTHEN US (Psalm 27:14).
2. WE ARE TO TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEART. DO NOT RELY ON OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING (Proverbs 3:5).
Psalm 31:14; 36:7; Isaiah 26:3-4; Jeremiah 17:7; Nahum 1:7; 2 Corinthians 1:9
3. THE LORD HAS NEVER ABANDONED THOSE WHO SEEK HIM (Psalm 9:10).
4. JESUS INVITES US TO BELIEVE IN GOD, AND TO BELIEVE ALSO IN HIM; TO HAVE PERSONAL, RELATIONAL TRUST IN HIM (John 14:1).
5. JESUS TELLS HIS DISCIPLES TO HAVE FAITH, AND DO NOT DOUBT. ONLY GOD-GIVEN FAITH IS DOUBT-FREE. GOD DOES IMPOSSIBLE THINGS IN RESPONSE TO PRAYER (Matthew 21:21).
1 Corinthians 16:13
6. THE DISCIPLES REQUESTED OF THE LORD TO INCREASE THEIR FAITH. GENUINE FAITH IS POWERFUL EVEN IN SMALL QUANTITIES (Luke 17:5).
7. PAUL TELLS US TO REMAIN GROUNDED AND STEADFAST IN THE FAITH; NOT TO BE SHIFTED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL (1 Corinthians 16:13; Colossians 1:23).
Beloved, when the Light climbs aboard your vessel, you will never be the same. He stills the storm, He calms the ocean; and those giant waves that once threatened you transform into a calm and peaceful sea. His name is Jesus.
