5. MARY - CONFLICTS

5. MARY - CONFLICTS

SEEK GOD’S WORD FOR TRUTH

Read the following passage:

JOHN 2:1-5

According to this passage, what event was Mary attending? Who else was there?

At the wedding, Mary noticed that the wine ran out. What did she do?

How does Jesus answer her?

How does Mary deal with her son’s reply?

Read about another time:

LUKE 8:19-21

What do we learn about Mary and Jesus’ relationship from this passage?

What appears to be happening to her relationship with her firstborn son?

FIND GOD’S WAYS FOR YOU

Describe a time when you embarrassed yourself or a family member at a family event.

What did it do to your relationship?

How do you go about helping family members you think are on the edge of trouble?

Read the following passages:

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.

GALATIANS 6:2-5

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

MATTHEW 7:1-2

What do we learn about relationships and responsibility in the above verses?

STOP AND PONDER

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,  redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Submitting to one another in the fear of God.

EPHESIANS 5:15-17; 21

Are you thoughtless or considerate in your relationships?
