THE FATHER OF LIGHTS (James 1:16-17)
Only good gifts come from God. He is the source of every good and "every perfect gift." In the Bible the word "father" sometimes has the meaning of Creator or Source (Job 38:28). God is the Creator of Source of lights. This includes the heavenly bodies - the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis 1:14-18; Psalm 136:7). God is also the Source of all spiritual light as well. We should think of Him as the Source of every form of light in the universe.
