The raucous praise (Revelation 19:6-8)
This feast or party begins with ἀλληλούϊα allēlloúia, Gk, which tells us that it will be a decidedly Jewish Wedding. The watch word is “ἀλληλούϊα allēlloúia.” It will be a wildly, wonderful, and holy raucous praise.
“Let us rejoice and be glad.”
Definition of “glad”: “agalliao – from “agan” meaning “very much” and “hallomai” meaning “to leap.” “To exult, rejoice with exuberance, often to leap for joy, show one’s joy by leaping, skipping, or dancing; denoting excessive or estatic joy and delight.” (New Testament Lexical Aids, #22)
Christ is saying “Go ahead and anticipate it.”
I am heading to a party because my salvation is secure in Jesus Christ, and I have trusted Him as my Personal Savior.
Isaiah 61:10
The whole idea of the people of God being a bride was covenantal from the beginning.
The word “delight” means the same thing as “rejoice” in Revelation 19.
Revelation 19:7: “rejoice and be glad.”
Isaiah 61:10: “delight greatly……my soul rejoices.”
(NAS (“will exult”)
The word rejoices (גּוּל gûl. Heb) means “to spin around.” It is when something whirls around.
