Revelation 11:7 (NIV)

Revelation 11:7 (NIV)
Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Testimony (τελέω teléō, Gk) means “To make an end or to accomplish, to complete something, not merely to end it, but to bring it to perfection or its destined goal, to carry it through.” They cannot be taken one moment before their witness is complete. Not a single servant of God can ever be taken one second before the job is complete. It will be complete. It is word that means “to reach its ultimate goal.”

In the words of hymnist Isaac Watts: His wisdom’s vast, and knows no bound, A deep where all our thoughts are drowned.

God’s wisdom is so vast, that it is a deep where our finite thoughts are simply drowned.
